WNMU to Host Career Fair and Student Research Symposium in Silver City

DEMING — Western New Mexico University will host its annual Spring Career Fair next week, followed by a multi-day academic symposium highlighting student research and creative work.

University officials say the Spring Career Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22nd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the WNMU campus in Silver City. The in-person event will connect students with regional employers and recruiters offering information about internships, career opportunities, and professional networking.

The Spring Symposium will take place the following week and will feature student presentations showcasing research projects and scholarly achievements. The first day of the symposium is set for Tuesday, April 28th and will include in-person presentations and poster sessions on campus.

A second day of sessions will be held online on Wednesday, April 29th, allowing remote students to participate virtually.

University leaders say the events are designed to highlight student achievement, strengthen connections between education and industry, and help prepare students for future careers.
