Springfest Returns to Young Park for 31st Year of Family Fun in Las Cruces

DEMING, NM – The 31st annual Springfest will take place Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Young Park, bringing children, families, and community partners together for one of the region’s most recognized spring traditions featuring games, activities, and the signature egg hunts that have defined the celebration for more than three decades.

Organized by Bravo Mic Communications, Springfest has grown into one of the area’s most anticipated seasonal family events, widely known as one of the largest children’s fairs and egg hunts in the Southwest. The free community event offers a safe, family-friendly environment filled with entertainment, food vendors, and community engagement opportunities for residents across southern New Mexico.

According to official event materials, Springfest is designed as a community gathering that encourages participation from children and parents of all ages through specialty booths, games, and themed activities. The event begins with an opening ceremony at 9 a.m., followed by the first egg hunt at 9:30 a.m., and concludes with a closing ceremony just before 1 p.m.

Multiple egg hunts are scheduled throughout the morning to ensure younger children and those with special needs have dedicated time to participate safely. Age-group hunts begin with children ages 0 to 2 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a special needs hunt at 10 a.m., children ages 3 to 4 at 10:30 a.m., and a make-up session at 11 a.m. for younger participants. Older children ages 5 to 8 hunt at 11:30 a.m., while children ages 9 to 12 take their turn at noon. An adult egg toss competition wraps up the activity schedule at 12:30 p.m.

Community participation remains a central part of the event’s success. The official site layout shows dozens of local organizations and businesses hosting booths and activities throughout the park, ranging from healthcare providers and financial institutions to nonprofit groups, churches, and local retailers. In total, more than three dozen vendors and community partners are expected to take part, highlighting the strong collaboration between local organizations and families across the region.

Food trucks and refreshment vendors will be available throughout the event, providing families with a variety of meal and snack options while children enjoy the day’s activities. Restrooms and event information stations will be located near the park entrance, and organizers remind participants that setup begins early in the morning to ensure the event starts on time.

Springfest’s longevity reflects its deep roots in the Las Cruces community. With the 31st anniversary being celebrated this year, the event traces its origins back to the mid-1990s, when it first began as a smaller seasonal gathering and steadily expanded into the large-scale family celebration it is today. Organizers say the continued success of Springfest is made possible through partnerships with local businesses, volunteers, and families who return year after year to celebrate the arrival of spring together.

Residents planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early, follow posted signage, and prepare for a busy morning of activities designed to create lasting memories for children and families across southern New Mexico.
