DEMING – Local law enforcement officers with the Deming Police Department made several arrests recently, with the individuals later booked into the Luna County Detention Center on a variety of charges ranging from battery to drug-related offenses and outstanding warrants.
According to the daily media report provided by authorities, Carrie L. Howell, age 36, of Deming, was arrested on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant for charges of escape or attempt to escape from jail and forgery.
In a separate incident, Melissa Lynn Johnson, age 45, of Deming, was arrested and charged with battery upon a household member.
Authorities also report that Amanda Jean Pinon, age 42, of Deming, was taken into custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance, identified as methamphetamine, along with use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Officials say Pinon was additionally wanted on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant related to conspiracy charges involving aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated burglary. The report indicates the charges carry a no-bond hold.
In another case, Salvador Terrazas, age 35, of Deming, was arrested and charged with battery upon a household member and criminal damage to the property of a household member.
All individuals named in this report were arrested by the Deming Police Department and booked into the Luna County Detention Center. Each person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
