DEMING – Luna County Clerk Barbara Delaney has released the official timeline and voting details for the upcoming 2026 Primary Election, with several opportunities available for residents to cast their ballots early or on Election Day.
Mail and online voter registration will close on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. That same day marks the beginning of absentee voting and early voting at the Luna County Clerk’s Office, located at 700 S. Silver Avenue. Early voting at the Clerk’s Office will run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Beginning Saturday, May 16, early voting will also be available at the Mimbres Valley Learning Center, 2300 E. Pine Street. Voting hours at that location will be Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The final day for the Clerk’s Office to receive absentee ballot applications is Tuesday, May 19. Early voting concludes Saturday, May 30, with the Clerk’s Office open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Mimbres Valley Learning Center open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All absentee ballots must be received by 7 p.m. that day in order to be counted.
Voting convenience centers on Election Day will be located at Mimbres Valley Learning Center, Holy Family Parish Hall at 615 S. Copper Street in Deming, and the Columbus Village Library at 12 W. Broadway in Columbus. Same-day registration will be available during early voting and on Election Day. Secured drop boxes will also be available for absentee ballot return.
