Holiday Police Reports Released by Deming Police Department

DEMING — Several arrests were reported over the holiday weekend as Deming Police officers responded to calls and served warrants across the city and surrounding area. Deming Police Chief Sergio Lara told Deming Radio News that officers remained active throughout the holiday period, focusing on public safety, warrant enforcement, and ongoing investigations.

Stephanie Michelle Mathieus, 35, was arrested on December 26. She is being held on a Bernalillo County Albuquerque Metropolitan Court warrant with no bond. The original offense listed on the warrant includes aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shooting at or from a motor vehicle.

Santiago Del Valle, 19, was arrested on December 26. He faces one count of making a shooting threat, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer for refusal to stop, a misdemeanor.

Gabriel Mark Gonzales, 33, was arrested on December 27 on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant and is being held without bond. The original offense listed on the warrant is criminal damage to property of a household member under $1,000, with the offense date noted as September 12, 2025.

Caleb Bazor, 24, of Silver City, was arrested on December 28. He is charged with criminal damage to property over $1,000, a fourth-degree felony.

Cynthia Darlene Henry, 65, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, was arrested on December 29 on a Luna County Sixth Judicial District Court warrant for failure to appear on conditions of release. The original offenses include battery upon a peace officer, assault involving attempted battery, and resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer during service of process.

In addition to arrests, officers took a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle on December 29 in the 500 block of West Juniper Street. Items reported stolen included a purse and wallet containing personal identifying information, an iPhone 16 Pro valued at approximately $900, and makeup.

Deming Police are also investigating a criminal damage to property incident at a cannabis dispensary on South Silver Street. Officers responded in the early morning hours of December 25 after a large window was damaged, with estimated replacement costs of about $1,000. Surveillance video captured two unidentified male suspects fleeing the area, and detectives continue to review available footage.

Chief Lara said investigations remain ongoing and encouraged anyone with information related to these cases to contact law enforcement. All persons mentioned in this report are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
