DEMING — The Deming Police Department released a media report Tuesday detailing multiple arrests and an ongoing stolen vehicle investigation stemming from recent incidents within the city.
According to the report, Joaquin Alonso Widmar, 23, of Deming, was arrested on a series of charges that include one count of residential burglary, a third-degree felony. Widmar also faces multiple misdemeanor and petty misdemeanor charges, including interference with communications, resisting or evading an officer, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, larceny, and several counts of criminal trespass at separate Pine Street locations.
In a separate case, Francisco Aguirre, 36, of Deming, was arrested on felony charges that include aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm, aggravated fleeing from a law enforcement officer, possession of a controlled substance, and trafficking in a controlled substance. Aguirre also faces a misdemeanor charge for driving while his license was suspended.
Police officials emphasized that all individuals named in the report are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The report also notes an ongoing investigation into a stolen vehicle. A 2011 black Chevrolet Camaro was reported stolen from the parking lot at 115 North Pearl Street. The vehicle’s estimated value is approximately 20,000 dollars. A “be on the lookout” alert has been issued, and the vehicle has been entered into the National Crime Information Center database. The case remains open and active.
