DEMING – The Deming-Luna County Humane Society is bringing holiday cheer to life with its inaugural Festival of the Trees, set for November 20 through 22 at the Learning Center. The new community event will showcase fifty beautifully decorated holiday trees, each created by local businesses, organizations, and individuals. Visitors can enjoy the festive displays, take part in silent auctions, raffles, and holiday treats, with all proceeds benefiting the care of dogs and cats at the Humane Society shelter.
Each five-foot tree will feature a unique theme and design, available for bidding throughout the festival. Winning bidders will take home their chosen tree at the close of the event, with prizes also awarded for the top bid, people’s choice, and best overall theme. Setup and decorating begin November 20 and continue into the 21st, with public viewing and bidding scheduled for Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those interested in sponsoring or decorating a tree are encouraged to contact Sande Foster at 575-546-1566 for details.
