Crafts, Companions and Community Spirit: DAGSHIP Plans Spring Adoption and Vendor Fair in Deming

DEMING – Animal lovers, local artisans and families across Luna County are invited to take part in a unique community gathering this spring as the Deming Animal Guardians Sunshine Haven Intake Project prepares to host a combined craft fair and pet adoption event designed to bring people together while helping animals find forever homes.

Organizers say the event will feature a variety of homemade crafts and gifts from local vendors, along with opportunities to adopt cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. Animal availability will depend on weather conditions and safety considerations for the pets.

The event is scheduled for Friday, May 9, beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m. or later, and will be held in the Harbor Freight and Marshalls parking lot in Deming. Vendors are currently being sought to participate, and community members are encouraged to come out, browse handcrafted items and meet adoptable animals in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, KDEM’s morning host John Krehbiel will be on site providing music throughout the event, helping create an upbeat environment for visitors, volunteers and prospective pet adopters.

Event coordinators say the goal is simple: bring the community together, support local creators and give animals a better chance at finding loving homes. Those interested in becoming vendors or seeking additional information may contact Beka at 406-468-8116.

Organizers also noted that supporters can contribute to the rescue’s ongoing needs through its Amazon Wish List, helping provide supplies and care for animals awaiting adoption.

Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars and plan to attend what promises to be a lively day of crafts, compassion and connection in Deming.
