DEMING – Community members, business leaders, and industry partners are being encouraged to take part in an upcoming Career Technical Education, or CTE, Advisory Networking Meeting at Deming High School, an event designed to strengthen collaboration between educators and the local workforce while helping students prepare for meaningful careers after graduation.
School officials say the gathering is more than just a routine meeting. It is an opportunity for employers and professionals across Luna County to share real-world insight about the skills students need to succeed in today’s workplaces. Organizers emphasize that feedback from the community plays a direct role in shaping classroom instruction, certification pathways, and training opportunities that align with regional job demands.
According to the invitation distributed by the school’s counseling office, the purpose of the meeting is to better understand workforce expectations, including technical abilities, professional communication, teamwork, and industry-recognized certifications that can help students transition smoothly into employment or advanced training.
Educators say these conversations are essential in a community like Deming, where strong partnerships between schools and local businesses help ensure that students graduate with practical skills that match the needs of employers. The advisory setting also allows participants to network with one another and explore ways to expand internship programs, apprenticeships, and career readiness initiatives.
The Career Technical Education Advisory Networking Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25th at 5:00 p.m. in the Deming High School Library. School leaders say anyone with experience in business, trades, healthcare, public service, or other industries is welcome to attend and share their perspective.
Officials add that the continued involvement of local partners remains a key factor in building a stronger workforce pipeline for the region and providing students with opportunities to succeed both in Deming and beyond.
