DEMING — Construction is officially underway at Alberts Field Park, marking the beginning of a major transformation for one of Columbus’s most well-known community spaces.

According to a recent Facebook post from the Village of Columbus, a groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the milestone. Village officials say the project will bring modern facilities and renewed energy to the park, enhancing its role as a gathering place for residents and visitors.

The improvements are being made possible through a partnership with FAMCO, along with the work of the village’s Public Works Department. Village leaders also expressed appreciation to the Columbus Trustees for their vision and support of the project.

Several officials joined village representatives for the ceremony, including Christie Ann Harvey and Jenifer Jones, who were on hand to mark the start of construction.

Village officials say the project represents a significant step forward for the community, with construction now underway and more changes expected at Alberts Field Park in the months ahead.
