Early College High School Archery Team Claims State Title

DEMING — The Early College High School archery team has captured a state championship, earning first place at the 2026 New Mexico Department of Game and Fish New Mexico State NASP 3-D Championship.

The team delivered a dominant performance, combining focus and consistency to secure the overall title against top competition from across the state.

Leading the way were three archers who finished among the top overall competitors. Luis Armendariz claimed first place in the boys division with a score of 286, including 19 tens. Ashlynn McGinnis earned first place in the girls division with a score of 285 and 18 tens. Kealanie Tyquiengco placed fourth overall among girls with a score of 278 and 17 tens.

Other members of the championship team include Carmelo Williams, Harmony Morales, Jayden Osborne, Serenity Gonzales, Aerona Stewart, Cody Warren, Arriana Corral, Martina Warren, Aden Narvaez, Genesis Malina, Kara Fetrow, and Luz Ramirez.

School officials praised the team not only for its athletic success, but also for academic achievement. Several team members are recognized as Academic Archers, balancing strong classroom performance with competitive excellence.

Coaches noted that many athletes recorded personal best scores during the tournament, highlighting continued growth and improvement throughout the season.

With the victory, Early College High School officially brings home the 2026 state archery championship title, marking a major achievement for the students, coaches, and school community.
