DEMING — The Luna County 4-H program is inviting the community to an evening of food, fun, and fundraising at its annual Sportsman’s Banquet, set for Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Mimbres Valley Learning Center.
“Luna County Extension Agent Jack Blandford told Deming Radio News that the banquet is designed to bring families, sportsmen, and supporters of our youth programs together for a night of good food, exciting raffles, and community spirit, while helping raise critical funds for the 4-H Shooting Sports program that benefits young people across the county.”
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the event running from 6 to 9 p.m. Organizers say the evening will feature a steak dinner, a grand prize raffle, and a live auction offering a range of items, including guns, gun safes, optics, camping equipment, guided hunting and fishing trips, jewelry, and other prizes. A highlight of the raffle includes a gun safe loaded with firearms and additional prizes.
Tickets are priced at $75 and include dinner and one raffle ticket. Children five and under are admitted free. Sponsorship tables are also available at several levels, offering meals, raffle tickets, and prize selections as part of the package.
In addition to the main events, local tradesmen will be on hand displaying goods and services, and interactive games and photo backdrops will be available for youth and families throughout the evening.
Organizers note that tickets are limited and all federal firearms regulations will be followed. For more information or to purchase tickets, community members can contact Jack Blandford at 575-546-8806 or Wes Peterson at 575-544-1092.
All proceeds from the banquet will benefit the Luna County 4-H Shooting Sports program, which provides educational and skill-building opportunities for local youth.
