DEMING – The Deming Police Department and the Luna County Detention Center reported several arrests from November 21 through 23. Taken into custody was 24-year-old Brian Otero on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm or destructive device by a felon, and abandonment or child abuse. Also arrested were 28-year-old Angel Enciso on a household-member battery charge, 45-year-old Kathy Chavez on a battery charge, and 60-year-old Cynthia Gallegos on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear on an original DUI-drug charge, with no bond issued.
Authorities additionally reported the arrest of 20-year-old Isaac Chairez on a Sierra County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear on an original failure-to-register-a-vehicle charge, carrying a $50 bond. Forty-five-year-old Carmen Regalado was taken into custody on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, with no bond. No burglaries or other crimes were listed in the report.
All persons mentioned are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
