DEMING – The Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network has begun removing dead and dying trees and performing safety pruning across the City of Deming during the week of November 17. The work is being carried out by Southwest Tree Solutions, owned and operated by Joseph Franklin-Owens.
Tree maintenance will continue throughout the city, with additional phases planned into early 2026.
The Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network provides tree planting, care, and technical support to community partners throughout southwest New Mexico, helping to maintain and grow healthy community tree canopies. Their work includes planting assistance, logistics, and long-term maintenance for sustainable urban forestry.
The group is active in Deming, Santa Clara, Hurley, Bayard, Silver City, and Lordsburg.
