Deming Man Arrested Following Alleged Robbery at Local Dispensary

DEMING – A man is in custody following an alleged robbery at the Ultra Health dispensary on East Pine Street Monday morning. Police say the suspect was taken into custody after officers responded to a panic alarm at the store and began reviewing evidence.

According to the Deming Headlight, an employee reported that a male subject entered the store, forcibly took several THC vape cartridges, and caused minor injuries to the clerk during the struggle. Witnesses said the man was seen fleeing from behind First Financial before officers arrived.

Responding officers later observed surveillance footage that showed the same man involved in the incident. Investigators identified the suspect as 26-year-old Enrique Santos Villegas of Deming, who was later located at his residence. Officers recovered the stolen items along with clothing matching what was seen in the video.

Police confirm Villegas has been charged with robbery. They also noted he had active warrants for failure to appear and domestic violence. No serious injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
