Local Arrests and Crimes Report for Today


DEMING – Local law enforcement reported multiple arrests and incidents this week, highlighting a range of criminal cases across the community.

Police arrested three Deming residents on separate charges. Analexi Marie Lynch, 19, was charged with battery upon a household member and criminal damage to the property of a household member. Anthony Maynes, 38, was taken into custody on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant charging him with two counts of conspiracy and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon; he is being held without bond. Julian Pinon, 38, was also arrested on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear.

Two burglaries were reported. Gogold LLC, located at 901 N. Gold Street, was burglarized sometime between September 10 and September 12, with more than $500 worth of tools stolen. At the Days Inn Hotel, immigration documents were taken from a rented room after forced entry caused an estimated $500 in damage to the door.

Other criminal cases were also reported. A criminal summons was issued for Gabriel Gonzales, 32, of Deming, on a charge of criminal damage to the property of a household member. Police investigated a broken window at an apartment complex in the 700 block of West Spruce Street, where damages were valued at $200. In a separate case, property was defaced in the 900 block of Blue Bonnet, also with damages estimated at $200. Detectives are additionally investigating a case of criminal sexual penetration in which a 40-year-old woman reported being raped by a 51-year-old man.

Other incidents included a threat at Deming High School, where a 14-year-old male student was arrested on charges of making school shooting threats and interfering with officers. He was transported and released to the Doña Ana Juvenile Detention Center. In another case, a 25-year-old man overdosed on fentanyl; Narcan was administered and he was transported by EMS to the emergency room. At Starmax, a 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested on charges of aggravated DWI, resisting and evading an officer, minor in possession of alcohol, and failure to maintain lanes. He was transported and released to the Lea County Detention Center.
